Conducting Heat Loss Calculations - Webinar

This NYSERDA-supported course will be delivered as a webinar. 

Monday, Sept 28th – 10 AM to 12 PM 

Understanding the principle of heat loss calculation is essential, for
an HVAC contractor to properly adopt Manual J modeling software.
This course is manufacturer-neutral and does not require the use or
any particular third-party Manual J modeling tool. We will work
through one problem set using the case provided by the instructor.

Best Practices for Installation of Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pumps (ccASHP) - Webinar

This NYSERDA-supported course will be delivered in two 3-hour webinar sessions.

Wednesday, Sept 30th, 10 AM to 1 PM

and

Friday, Oct 2, 2020 – 10 AM to 1 PM

Participants will learn

  • the advantages of inverter compressor technology in allowing improved operational efficiency of a heat pump
  • how heat pumps work to provide both heating and air conditioning
  • why properly sizing a ccASHP is so critical for client satisfaction
  • limitations and challenges of inadequate electrical service at the site and options to upgrade existing service/panel to
    accommodate the increased electrical load.

Contractors will understand the limitations and requirements for installing indoor and outdoor units:

  • For indoor units, choosing the location for proper drainage and air circulation, consistent with manufacturer-specified
    minimum and maximum distance from the outdoor unit.
  • For outdoor units, ensuring proper air circulation and providing adequate clearances for maintenance and potential snow
    accumulation.
